3.SPARKLING ZONE

우리는 비슷하지만 다른 생각을 가진 사람들과 만났을 때 그 ‘반짝이는’ 생각을 극대화 시킬 수 있다. 세 개의 커다란 LED 풍선은 혼자 있을 때, 그리고 나와 비슷한 다른 누군가를 만났을 때 각각 다른 빛과 사운드를 표출한다.

인간과 미디어의 상호작용을 원리로 한 “PI (Playful Interaction)”는 사람과 사람 사이의 네트웍을 형성하면서 활동하고 즐길 수 있는 공간을 더욱 확장 시킨다. 구형태의 PI는 숨쉬는 듯 빛을 통해 신호를 보내고 사람과 상호작용이 일어날 때마다 빛의 색과 깜빡임, 그리고 사운드로 반응한다. 공이 뿜어내는 빛들이 관계에너지에 대한 시각적 발현이라면, 사운드는 그 청각적 발현으로, 성별, 나이, 국적 등이 다양한 사람들로부터 얻어진 음성이 구현되는데, 공을 움직이는 사람이 많을수록 풍부한 하모니를 이루게 된다. 이는, 디지털 미디어가 경험을 통해 소통을 위한 매개가 되어야 한다는 작가들의 철학을 대변한다.

3.SPARKLING ZONE

Sparks appear. Now the people have introduced themselves and shared personal information. This is the “aha!” moment where they figure out  that they are not total strangers to each other.

abstract:

The interactive ball, “PI (Playful Interaction),” makes the connection between people strong and expands the meaning of the space by giving a playful interaction between human & digital media. PI can communicate with people with colorful lights and sounds that make the ball seems to be alive. While the lights of PI represents the visual transformation of people’s kinetic energy, the sound, musical tone of people form different sex, age and nationality, genereated by the interaction symbolizes the harmorney among people. It tells us that the digital media should be an intermediation, giving people the shared experience.
